Fringe Lane was born from a love of Melbourne and what it has to offer in the areas of art, fashion, food, music and life in general. Our stories are for people who want to step outside the social norm and experience something different. See episodes of Fringe Lane every Friday night at 9.00pm from December 7th on Channel 31 (digital channel 44), or view our Stories.

We're very excited to bring audiences something new and a little bit left of centre, which we think is really lacking in Australian television. Our incredibly talented (and good looking!) presenters each bring a unique flavour to Fringe Lane and the pastimes, enterprises and events they explore. It's not an accident that our cast is made up entirely of women, either. We don't think there's much room in Australia's commercial television industry at the moment for women who bring something different, and this is our way of trying to change that.

Almost half of our crew are women too, because behind the scenes is just as important as in front of the camera, and just as hard to make a career out of in the wider sector. Through our amazing partnership with Youthworx Productions, our crew is also made up of at-risk young people who have been given on-the-job television production training. All 18 and under, they've operated cameras, recorded audio, set up lights, helped edit our stories and compile episodes for broadcast.
